I would compulsively eat sugar straight from the jar…
Just one more I’d say and put the spoon in the dishwasher.
Four clean spoons later I’d still be saying ‘just one more’!
It’s one of the ways I’d avoid feeling my feelings.
Can’t sit still?
Worry lots?
Eat too much sugar?
Lose hours scrolling on your phone?
Take drugs?
Work too much?
Have compulsive behaviours?
Can’t take a compliment?
Have addictions you can’t overcome?
These are all indications you’re avoiding feeling your feelings.
