I used to avoid feeling uncomfortable

I used to avoid feeling uncomfortable because it was uncomfortable…

I stayed in my safety zone, doing what I knew I was capable of and avoiding anything I might mess up.

And if I did get out of my comfort zone I would feel so nervous I couldn’t wait to get back to safety.

But I became stale and my mind became stagnant.

I needed to up level my life so I got a coach, that was my first step out of my comfort zone. The first of many!

I began to see that fear will encourage us to shy away from all sorts of things, even the things we really want to do.

Our brains are designed to protect us and keep us safe from danger but it can be over cautious and that can affect our ability to grow because with discomfort comes growth!

I’ve learned that taking action proves to my brain that it underestimated my ability and over estimated the challenges.

I’ve achieved all sorts of things I never thought I could!

All I had to do was stop that record in my head telling me I can’t or shouldn’t. It turns out I have the choice to push pause on the record…

Now I embrace discomfort because I know it means I’m growing and progressing. I even actively seek it out!
