IS GRATITUDE ENOUGH?

In a recent conversation with a client it became clear she has developed a wonderful habit of gratitude.

We could have left it there however, I picked up on her gratitude for the good, all things great and small…

Yet there was a subtle undertone of not being able to extend this same gratitude to the not so good.

Indeed the gratitude for the good was in part a compensation for the lack of gratitude for the less than ideal.

What does this matter?

Well this pattern plays out in her ability to recognise and have gratitude for her positive traits and body parts.

What she struggles with is showing this same acceptance for her rounded tummy, blemished skin and sometimes procrastination…

So she is rejecting and abandoning parts of herself. She is creating soul separation. And this creates an inability to love and validate oneself.

All too common consequences of this are losing sight of ones true self, overdoing, over achieving, people pleasing and weak boundaries.

All of which are underlying factors in burnout, stress, overwhelm and anxiety.

So you can see it matters a lot!
