JUST BE POSITIVE all the memes say…
And being positive is important of course for living an enjoyable life.
However, don’t be a victim to false positivity.
Sit with the thoughts creating the stress. Acknowledge them and work through them to find your state of true positivity.
For to sweep negative thoughts under the carpet simply telling yourself to be ok is to bypass ‘the work’ and likely to lead to the thoughts surfacing in some other way such as anxiety, physical pain or compulsive behaviours like drinking alcohol, eating junk, Netflix binges, social media scrolling, the list goes on….
Not sure how to do ‘the work’?
That’s ok most people aren’t, we aren’t taught in schools.
