STOP SCROLLING IF… WHEN YOU TRY TO REST YOUR MIND CHATTER GOES CRAZY AND YOU FEEL FIDGETY!

Something I see all the time is women who are desperate for a break and to feel refreshed but don’t actually know how to slow down and rest.

Give them a week off work and they will fill it with clearing the attic or spring cleaning or some other responsibility that just must be done as a priority over rest and relaxation!

These wonderful women feel they never have enough time and that there’s just too much to do…

They believe rest must be earned!

So when they try to rest their mind is crazy busy with endless to do lists.

It triggers feelings of guilt and of being lazy.

These same women feel like a wound up coil, cranky and have outbursts of anger

They feel depleted, run down and struggle with their health…

They are challenged with being present with and actually enjoying their loved ones…

They feel they’ve lost their sparkle and passion for life…

Why are women stuck in this soul destroying (literally) loop?

Because society taught us that productivity increases our personal worth and that to be valued we must always be doing.

I think it’s highly important we recognise this is the same society that is riddled with obesity, chronic illness and poor mental health.

Me thinks we got it wrong!

The solution here is balance.

It’s recognising that always being anything comes with suffering and consequence.

Rest is essential for our wellbeing.
